Meet Dr. Mike Moore
Mike Moore is a leading researcher and national thought leader on course materials intervention models in higher education. His work explores how initiatives such as Inclusive Access (IA), Equitable Access (EA), and Open Educational Resources (OER) influence student outcomes, faculty engagement, and institutional effectiveness. He has completed multiple studies on IA and EA, including the first to analyze Equitable Access and course completion rates across both two-year and four-year institutions.
Mike’s work is distinguished by his dual perspective as both a researcher and practitioner. Before entering academia, he spent more than a decade in collegiate retail and bookstore operations, experience that allows him to connect theory with practice. This operational background provides him with a pragmatic understanding of the challenges institutions face in course materials adoption cycles, vendor management, and digital integration, while his research lens ensures that decisions are grounded in measurable outcomes.
In addition to his academic and consulting work, Mike partners with colleges, systems, and associations to modernize bookstore operations, implement Inclusive and Equitable Access programs, and engage faculty in meaningful conversations about affordability and student success.
He earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
